Replacing drive belt for air conditioning compressor with belt tensioner (S63T2) (X6 M)

Attention! 

Risk of damage! 

Release screws (1) on vibration damper only if disassembly position is adjusted.

If contaminated with hydraulic fluid: Exchange  belt drive.

Crank engine at central bolt in direction of engine rotation.

Installation note: 

If the belt drive is being reused, mark the direction of rotation and reinstall the drive belt in the same direction of rotation.

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove DRIVE BELT  for alternator.

Removal: 

Crank engine at central bolt until marking (see arrow) is reached on vibration absorber.

Unscrew the screws (1).

Attention! 

Belt pulley is pretensioned.

Belt pulley tension is relieved abruptly during the cranking process!

Remove elasto belt.

Installation: 

Position elasto belt.

Crank engine at central bolt until marking (see arrow) is reached on vibration absorber.

Join screws (1).

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 11 28 2AZ .

Required follow-up work: 

• Install DRIVE BELT  for alternator.
