72 12 006 Removing and installing/replacing airbag module for passenger knee protection
WARNING:
Read and comply with safety regulations for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnical belt pretensioners.
Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.
IMPORTANT:
Work on pyrotechnical devices may only be carried out by properly trained technicians.
Incorrect work may result in serious dangers.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect negative battery lead. See DISCONNECTING/CONNECTING BATTERY EARTH LEAD or DISCONNECT/CONNECT BATTERY EARTH LEAD (PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE) .
- Remove LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM .
Removal:
Release screws (1).
Unclip airbag module (2) and unlock and disconnect plug connection located behind.
Installation:
Connect the connector to the airbag module (2).
Renew screws (1).
Parts: Bolts
Clip in airbag module (2) and tighten the screws (1).
Tightening torque 72 12 03AZ .
