18 00 020 Remove and install exhaust system (N20 PHEV) completely

Special tools required:

WARNING: High-voltage system - danger to life
Compliance with the following points is mandatory before beginning work:

Observe SAFETY INFORMATION for working with electric vehicles.

WARNING: Risk of burning!
Only perform this repair work after engine has cooled down.
Danger of injury!
Removal of the exhaust system must be carried out with the assistance of a second person .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove REAR BUMPER PANEL .
Use a suitable jack to support and secure the exhaust system against falling.

Removal:

Release clamp (1).

Release rubber mount (1).

Slacken nuts (1).

Unlock and disconnect plugs (1).

Slacken nuts (2).

Lower and remove exhaust system with assistance of a second person.

Installation:

Install exhaust system.

Tighten nut (2).

Tightening torque 18 20 2AZ .

Attach and lock connector (1).

Connector (1) must engage audibly.

Tighten nut (1).

Tightening torque 18 20 2AZ

Fasten rubber mount (1).

Renew V-band clamp (1).

Parts: V-band clamp

V-band clamp (1).

Tighten V-band clamp (1).

Tightening torque 18 20 1AZ .

Required reworking:

Install the BUMPER PANEL AT THE REAR
Check exhaust system for leaks.
