11 65 185 Removing and installing/replacing heat shield at bottom (N63)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove both turbochargers. See REMOVING TURBOCHARGER, LEFT (CYLINDERS 5-8)  and REMOVING TURBOCHARGER, RIGHT (CYLINDERS 1-4) .
• Remove both exhaust manifolds. See REMOVING LEFT EXHAUST MANIFOLD and REMOVING RIGHT EXHAUST MANIFOLD .
• Remove ALTERNATOR .

Release vacuum line (1) from retaining clip (2).

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque 11 65 5AZ .

Remove heat shield (2) towards top.

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque 11 65 6AZ .

Remove heat shield (2).

Assemble engine.
