51 23 265 Removing and installing/replacing left or right gas pressure spring for engine compartment lid
WARNING:

For the following tasks, you must take the appropriate measures to support the engine compartment lid.
As an alternative, you can enlist the help of a second person to hold the engine compartment lid.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove microfilter housing cover. See REMOVING LEFT MICROFILTER HOUSING COVER or REMOVING RIGHT MICROFILTER HOUSING COVER .
Make a written record of the installation position of the gas pressure spring(s) before removing.
Carry out BALL SOCKET REMOVAL at both ends (1) of gas pressure spring (2).
