31 31 000 Removing and installing complete left or right spring strut shock absorber
Installation note:
- All screws, nuts, bolts and hose clamps removed during the repair must be replaced.
- Retaining elements on chassis and suspension and steering parts must be replaced.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove PARTITION WALL OF UNITS COMPARTMENT
- Remove spring strut holder. See REMOVING SPRING STRUT HOLDER (AWD VEHICLE) or REMOVING SPRING STRUT HOLDER (RWD VEHICLE) .
IMPORTANT:
Risk of damage!
Secure spring strut against falling out.
Secure spring strut against falling out.
Unscrew nuts (1).
Tightening torque 31 31 1AZ .
Installation note:
Clean contact surface in spring strut dome.
Replace self-locking nuts.
Version with Vertical Dynamic Control: Disconnect both plug connections (1).
Disconnect plug connection (2) on pulse sensor.
Disconnect plug connection (3) from brake lining sensor.
Remove spring strut downwards out of wheel arch.
