12 42 500 Replacing positive battery cable between starter motor, alternator and positive battery connection point (N57 D30 O/T/S 1)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Fold back cover (1).

Release nut underneath.

Tightening torque 12 52 4AZ .

Release nut (2) on alternator.

Tightening torque 12 52 2AZ .

Remove positive battery cable from battery positive terminal.

Unlock and detach coolant hose (1).

Remove positive battery cable from alternator and feed out in downwards direction.

Release positive battery cable from the clamps (1).

Release nut (1) on starter motor.

Tightening torque 12 52 3AZ .

Disconnect positive battery cable (2) from starter motor.

Feed out positive battery cable and remove.

NOTE: Reassemble the vehicle.
Check stored fault messages.
Clear diagnostic fault entries from fault memory.
