13 62 663 Replacing exhaust-gas temperature sensor after catalytic converter (N57)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

WARNING: Risk of burning!
Only perform this repair work on an engine that has cooled down.

Unlock connector (1) and remove.

Release cable from clamps and cable straps.

Replace defective cable straps.

Release exhaust-gas temperature sensor (2) and remove.

Tightening torque 13 62 4AZ .

IMPORTANT: When installing the exhaust-gas temperature sensor make sure that the gauge tip (1) is not damaged.

Installation note:

Check stored error/fault messages.

Clear diagnostic fault entries from fault memory.
