51 16 240 Removing and installing/replacing rear storage box

Special tools required:

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove SIDE CARPET FROM STORAGE COMPARTMENT on left and right
Remove CENTER CONSOLE COVER (CENTER)

Version with telephone:

Remove BASE PLATE

Remove cover (1) at latch mechanisms (2) using special tool 00 9 340 from storage box (3).

Unlock associated plug connections and disconnect.

Unclip cover (1) with special tool 00 9 327 .

Installation note:

Replace faulty clamps (1) on cover (2).

Release left and right screws (1).

Slacken screws (1) and carefully remove storage box (2).

Replacement:

Remount CENTER ARMREST AT STORAGE COMPARTMENT on left and right.
