41 62 033 Adjusting Rear Lid Lower Section

IMPORTANT: Do not damage adjoining body components.
Minor corrections (realignment work) are permitted if the existing adjustment options are not sufficient.

Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .

Observe 41 00... BODY GAP DIMENSIONS .

NOTE: The rear lid lower section must be provided with all attachment parts for correct adjustment.

Raise trim (1).

Lateral adjustment for rear cutout:

Slacken screws (1) on tailgate hinge to tailgate lower section to the point where the tailgate lower section can still be moved.

Adjust tailgate lower section sideways.

Tightening torque 41 62 3AZ .

When closing the tailgate lower section, lock strikers must not make contact with or slip against tailgate locks.

Height adjustment for tailgate upper section:

Slacken screws (1) and (2) on tailgate hinge to the point where the tailgate hinge can still be moved.

Tightening torque 41 62 4AZ .

Adjust height of tailgate lower section.

After Installation note:

Tighten all screws and nuts to specified torque.
Touch up unpainted surfaces in the appropriate color.
Adjust TAILGATE LOCK .
Check setting for TAILGATE UPPER SECTION , if required adjust and calibrate rear view camera.
