63 21 260 Removing and installing (replacing) left side panel rear light

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DAMAGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

IMPORTANT: Risk of paint damage!

Tape off entire area (1) with yellow plastic adhesive tape.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Unscrew nuts (2).

Tightening torque 63 21 1AZ .

Pull rear light (1) in direction of arrow from guides at top (2) and bottom (3).

Installation note:

Guides (1, 2) at rear light (3) must not be damaged or missing.

Make sure gap dimension (outer) is uniform all round between rear light (3) and side wall.

Replacement:

Release latch mechanisms (1) at cover of water channel (2).

Remove cover of water channel (2) from rear light (3).

Installation note:

Catches (1) on water channel cover (2) must not be damaged or missing.

Make sure water channel cover (2) is correctly seated at rear light (3).
