72 17... Removing and installing/replacing engine compartment protective features (if equipped)

NOTE: The protective features are bonded with window glass adhesive.

Armor (1) is glued into CLEAN AIR PIPE .

Observe position of adhesive beads (2) and spacers (3).

If replacing clean air pipe: 

Glue in armor (1).

Armor (1) is glued into microfilter housing.

Observe position of adhesive beads (2) and spacers (3).

If replacing microfilter housing: 

Glue in armor (1).

Armor (1) is bonded to engine control unit.

Observe position of adhesive beads (2) and spacers (3).

If replacing engine control unit: 

Glue on armor (1).

Protective feature, carrier support, inner wheel arch section:

Protective mat (1) is bonded to wheel arch at top left.

Observe position of adhesive beads (2) and spacers (3).

Armor (1) is bonded to front spring strut dome.

Observe position of adhesive beads (2) and spacers (3).

Protective mat (1) is bonded to heat exchanger lines.

Observe position of adhesive beads (2).
