Removing and installing front seat, passenger's side (sport, electrical) (X5 M)
Improper handling can lead to triggering of the pyrotechnical seat belt tensioner or side airbag, resulting in injuries.
Switch off the ignition!
Version without anchor fitting tensioner:
Move front seat upwards.
Release screw (1) on front seat.
Installation note:
Replace screw.
Tightening torque 72 11 2AZ .
Feed out belt end fitting (2).
Version with anchor fitting tensioner:
Release screw (1).
Tightening torque 72 11 7AZ .
Remove lock washer.
Pull seat belt strap (2) out of end fitting tensioner.
Move front seat forwards.
Loosen screws.
Installation note:
Replace screws.
Tightening torques 52 10 1AZ .
Removing cover on left and right:
Move front seat rearwards.
Carefully raise tab (1).
At the same time, unlock inner and outer sides in direction of arrow.
Remove cover in direction of arrow towards front.
Release screws (1).
Installation note:
Replace screws.
Tightening torque 52 10 1AZ .
Installation note:
Carpet must not project between seat rail and floor panel in area of attachment points (creaking noise).
Remove trim on upper rail, outer.
- Raise trim
- Slide trim towards the rear and feed out.
Unlock left and right retaining lugs (1).
Remove trim on upper rail (2) upwards.
Unlock and disconnect plug connection behind.
Lift out front seat.
Installation note:
Make sure wiring harness installation arrangement is correctly routed in order to avoid creaking noises, jamming or collisions.
Clip in cable clip for wiring harness.
Lay wiring harness only in area (1) of cover.
Fitting the wiring loom between the carpet and the cover in control unit area (2) will result in creaking noises.
Carry out a complete forward/back adjustment with front seat.
