13 53 330 Replacing leakage oil lines (N47 D20 O1)
Necessary preliminary work:
- Read out the fault memory of the DDE control unit.
- Switch off ignition.
- Remove INTAKE FILTER HOUSING .
- Remove rear acoustic cover.
- Remove sound insulation on injectors.
IMPORTANT:
It is essential to adhere to conditions of absolute cleanliness when carrying out repair work on the fuel system.
- Do not allow any dirt particles or foreign bodies to get into the system.
- Use only fluff-free cloths.
- Remove all traces of dirt contamination before removing lines or individual components.
IMPORTANT:
You must protect the alternator against dirt contamination before carrying out any repair work on the fuel circuit.
Cover alternator with suitable materials.
Failure to comply with this procedure may result in an alternator malfunction.

Pull out retainer (1) upwards.
Detach connection of leakage oil line (2) upwards.
Installation note:
The entire leakage oil line must be replaced if seal (1) is damaged.
Detach leakage oil lines from the injectors. Release leakage oil line from rubber grommet (1).
Detach leakage oil line from T-piece (2) of fuel line (close to high pressure pump).
Reassemble the vehicle.
Check fuel system for leak tightness.
