51 16 340 Removing and installing/replacing lock for right glovebox

NOTE: Glove box cover removed for purposes of clarity.

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 16 14AZ .

Remove fastener (1) in direction of arrow.

Lock barrel dismantling:

Carefully lever out latch mechanisms (1 to 3) after one another and remove eccentric cap (4).

Installation note:

Latch mechanisms (1 to 3) must not be damaged.

IMPORTANT: Integrated key from remote key must be inserted in lock barrel (2), otherwise the lock barrel will be destroyed during dismantling.

Carefully release latch mechanisms (1) and push out lock barrel (2) from lock (3) with ignition key.

Installation note:

Latch mechanisms (1) must not be damaged.

Make sure installation position of lock barrel (2) in lock (3) is correct.
