51 71 038 Removing and installing/replacing front wheel arch cover (front section) on the left or right

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove FRONT WHEEL
PARTIALLY remove front wheel arch cover

Removal:

Version up to 04/2014:

NOTE: For a better view surrounding components have been omitted.

Prior to removing, pay attention to the exact installation position with respect to the adjoining components.

Release all screws (2).

Feed out wheel arch cover (1).

Release nuts (1).

Release screws (2).

Feed out wheel arch cover (3).

Installation:

Version up to 04/2014:

Feed in wheel arch cover (1).

Tighten all screws (2).

NOTE: Make sure wheel arch cover (1) and cooling air routing are correctly fitted.

Version after 04/2014:

Feed in wheel arch cover (3).

Tighten nuts (1).

Tighten screws (2).

NOTE: Make sure wheel arch cover (3) and cooling air routing are correctly fitted.

Required follow-up work:

Install FRONT WHEEL
Partially remove TRIM ON FRONT WHEEL ARCH
