51 16 355 Removing and installing/replacing driver's side fold-down compartment

When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.

Removal:

Version up to 04/2014:

Release screws (1).

Pull driver's side fold-down compartment (2) from top to bottom, detaching it at bottom.

Release screws (1).

Detach storage compartment (2) downwards out of instrument panel.

Installation:

Version up to 04/2014:

Position driver's side fold-down compartment (2) at bottom and install upwards into instrument panel.

Tighten down screws (1).

Version after 04/2014:

NOTE: Retaining lugs on left and right on fold-down compartment must not be damaged or missing.

Press storage compartment (2) into instrument panel.

Tighten down screws (1).
