51 41... Replacing armrest on left or right door trim panel

Special tools required: 

• 00 9 317

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Remove door trim panel  . See 51 41 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL  or 51 42 000 REMOVE AND INSTALL LEFT OR RIGHT REAR DOOR TRIM PANEL 

Drill out welded plastic joints (1) on armrest (2).

Remove armrest (2) from door trim panel (3).

New armrests are to be prepared for installation as follows 

Shorten all mounting domes (1) on armrest (2) by dimension "x".

x = 9 mm.

Installation note: 

Secure new armrest (2) to door trim panel (3) with supplied screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 41 5AZ (front door) and 51 42 3AZ (rear door).
