Ordering using the online portal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 BMW X5, 2012 BMW X5, and 2011 BMW X5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

ConnectedDrive services can be ordered from the factory, and will also be available for subsequent customer orders at the online portal in the future.

Subsequent orders and cancellation of online services at the BMW online portal will result in the following:

The equipment indicated in the factory order for the vehicle will vary from the equipment and function lists for the vehicle saved in the central BMW Group data records.

The equipment level indicated in the factory order for the vehicle is not updated when the contract for individual online services expires.

The services ordered through the BMW online portal in the future (optional equipment) will not appear in the equipment list for the factory vehicle order (ISTA, etc.).

The services cancelled at the BMW online portal (options) and the services that expire once the contract period elapses will continue to appear in the equipment list derived from the vehicle's factory order data (ISTA, etc.).

When problems related to the availability of ConnectedDrive services arise it is thus always necessary to check the equipment list in the BMW Group central data records. Starting in 09/2013 it will be possible to use the "ConnectedDrive Service Cockpit" application to check the actual list of ConnectedDrive services for specific vehicles.
