USB hub

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 BMW X5, 2012 BMW X5, and 2011 BMW X5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The USB hub contains an active USB signal amplifier. The USB hub has 2 inputs and 1 output for USB. The USB signal amplifier compensates for a power loss resulting from a cable extension of the USB connection. The USB hub is therefore only installed in vehicles where long cable lengths are used.

The USB hub has its own voltage supply on terminal 30B. This means that the USB hub can supply each device connected to the input with a current of up to 500 mA. The voltage transformer in the USB hub outputs a maximum of 5 V. The voltage is pending at the active USB signal amplifier and at the inputs.
