41 11 301 Replacing Entrance With Left Door Post (Partial Replacement, B-Pillar)

Spot-weld bonding is used on this vehicle. Observe specific PROCEDURE .

Remove or cover those vehicle components in the repair area which are susceptible to heat or dust.

Use only an approved SPOT-WELDING APPARATUS for repairs!

Place vehicle on straightening bench.

The following new parts are required:

(1) B-pillar with entrance
Shaped part, B-pillar, inner

Mark severance cuts in accordance with specified dimensions and cut.

IMPORTANT: Cut outer panel only for following severance cuts.
measurement "a" = approx. 200 mm behind hole dia. 25 mm.
Dimension "b" = approx. 150 mm from roof edge.
measurement "c" = approx. 80 mm below cut "b".
measurement "d" = approx. 200 mm from center point of hole dia. 25 mm.
Open welded connections in areas (1) and (2).
Open bonded connections in areas (3).
Installation note:
Cut out metal section (4) is needed again for sealing.
Weld in REINFORCEMENT PLATES at all severance cuts.
BOND and rivet new part in area (2).
Use Hemlock 813 blind rivet (sourcing reference: BMW Parts Department picture board - Aluminium and steel/bonding and welding).
Double the number of rivets across from welding spots in the area (2).
Mark severance cut in accordance with specified dimension and cut.
