26 Additional Work On Four-Wheel Drive Vehicles After Driving With Defective (Non-Engaging) Drive

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 BMW X5, 2012 BMW X5, and 2011 BMW X5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: If the vehicle has been moved under engine power with a non-engaging drive system (e.g. front propeller shaft defective and no longer engaging with the front differential or 1 output shaft no longer engaging with drive flange), it is imperative that the transfer box is calibrated after repairing the propeller shaft/output shaft(s).

After completing repairs, perform calibration using BMW diagnosis and information system and selecting Control unit function -

Function check - Transfer box.
