51 16 378 Removing and installing/renewing hinge for upper glovebox lid

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove GLOVE COMPARTMENT
Remove UPPER GLOVEBOX LID

Close glovebox lid.

Release tab washer (1) and remove pin (2).

Open glovebox lid.

Disconnect spring (3).

Release screw (4).

Feed out damping element (5).

Installation:

Replace tab washer (1) and pin (2).

Release screws (1).

Take off holders (2).

Feed out hinge (3).

Installation:

Spring (1) must not be damaged.

If necessary, pull out shaft (2) and replace faulty bushings (4).

Markings (3) on bushing (4) and hinge must line up.
