11 12 595 Checking a valve guide for wear (M57T2)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove valve

To measure tilt clearance, install a new valve so that end of valve stem is flush with valve guide.

Fit special tool 00 2 510 (dial gauge) and measure tilt clearance.

Max. permitted tilt clearance:

Refer to Technical Data. See CYLINDER HEAD WITH LID, BMW, M57T2,/TOP/SCR, D30 .

NOTE: In event of excessive tilt clearance, replace cylinder head and valves.

Assemble engine.
