64 22 191 Removing and installing/replacing rear passenger compartment fresh air grille \PREMIUM

Preprocesses 

  1. Removing side carpet on front left and right. See  1.
  2. Removing side carpet on rear left and right. See  2.
  3. Remove rear center console trim. See  3.
  4. Removing trim from rear center console (version without FD). See  4.
  5. Removing trims on the base of the FD on the left and right (version with FD). See  5.

    Keyprocesses 

  6. Removing rear fresh air grille. See  6.
  7. Installing the rear fresh air grille. See  7.

    Postprocesses 

  8. Installing trim in rear center console (version without FD). See  8.
  9. Installing trims on the base of the FD on the left and right (version with FD). See  9.
  10. Install rear center console trim. See  10.
  11. Installing side carpets on the front left and right. See  11.
  12. Installing the side carpet on the rear left and right. See  12.

Preprocesses 

  1. Removing side carpet on front left and right 
    NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
    NOTE: For better schematic diagram/mapping without seat.
    • Release screw (1).
    • Release side carpet (2) from clips (3).
    • Pull out side carpet (2) towards front from the clamps (4).

  2. Removing side carpet on rear left and right 
    NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
    NOTE: For better schematic diagram/mapping without seat.
    • Push side carpet (1) forwards and loosen it from the clamps (2).
    • Feed side carpet (1) out of the center console.

  3. Remove rear center console trim 
    NOTE: For better schematic diagram/mapping without seat.
    • Release screws (1) on left and right.
    • Lift retaining tabs (2) left and right over the latch mechanisms.
    • Remove the center console trim in the rear (3) of the center console.

    • Disconnect plug connections (1) and remove rear center console trim (2).

  4. Removing trim from rear center console (version without FD) 
    • Lever trim (1) with special tool 0 496 569 (00 9 325)  in the direction of arrow of the clamps (2) out of center console.

  5. Removing trims on the base of the FD on the left and right (version with FD) 
    NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
    • Unclip trim (1) with special tool 0 493 687 (00 9 340)  and remove.

    • Unclip trim (1) with special tool 0 493 687 (00 9 340)  and remove.

    • Open armrest (1).
    • Unclip trim (2) with special tool 0 493 687 (00 9 340)  and remove.

    Keyprocesses 

  6. Removing rear fresh air grille 
    • Unclip latch mechanisms (1) on both sides.
    • Lift fresh air grille (2) carefully upwards.
    • Disconnect associated plug connection.

  7. Installing the rear fresh air grille 
    • Connect connector with the fresh air grille (2).
    • Install fresh air grille (2) from above.
    • Clip in latch mechanisms (1) on both sides.

    Postprocesses 

  8. Installing trim in rear center console (version without FD) 
    • Replace faulty clamps (1).
    • Clip trim (2) into the center console from top.

  9. Installing trims on the base of the FD on the left and right (version with FD) 
    NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
    • Open armrest (1).
    • Feed in trim (2) and clip in.

    • Feed in trim (1) and clip in.

  10. Install rear center console trim 
    • Connect connector (1) and install the rear center console trim (2).

    NOTE: For better schematic diagram/mapping without seat.
    • Lift retaining tabs (2) left and right over the latch mechanisms.
    • Insert rear center console trim (3) in the center console.
    • Tighten screws (1) on left and right.
    TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

    Rear center console trim on center console 
    Sheet metal screw 2.8 Nm

  11. Installing side carpets on the front left and right 
    NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
    NOTE: For better schematic diagram/mapping without seat.
    • Replace faulty clips (3) and clamps (4).
    • Feed side carpet (2) into the center console from the front.
    • Secure side carpet (2) on the clips (3).
    • Tighten down screw (1).

    TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

    Side carpet on center console 
    Sheet metal screw 2.8 Nm
  12. Installing the side carpet on the rear left and right 
    NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
    NOTE: For better schematic diagram/mapping without seat.
    • Replace faulty clamps (2).
    • Push side carpet (1) into the center console from the front to attach it to the clamps (2)
