64 12 570 Replacing turbocharger coolant pump for auxiliary heater

WARNING: Risk of burning!
Work on the cooling system may only be carried out when it has cooled down.

Recycling

Coolant emerges when coolant lines are detached. Have a suitable collecting vessel ready.

Catch and dispose of emerging coolant.

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove LEFT FLOOR ASSEMBLY COVER

NOTE: Clamp off coolant hoses. See 64 0... DISCONNECTING A WATER HOSE .

Disconnect coolant hoses (1) with special tool 13 3 010 and release relevant hose clips.

Release screw (2).

Detach auxiliary water pump (3) and disconnect associated plug connection.

Tightening torque: 64 12 3AZ .

After installation:

Fill and vent cooling system and check for leaks. See 17 00 039 VENTING COOLING SYSTEM AND CHECKING FOR WATER LEAKS (N63) , 17 00 008 DRAINING AND ADDING COOLANT IN RADIATOR (N62TU, N63) , 17 00 005 DRAINING AND ADDING COOLANT (M57T2) or 17 00 039 VENTING COOLING SYSTEM AND CHECKING FOR WATER LEAKS (M57TU, M57T2) .
