18 40 040 Removing and installing, sealing or replacing exhaust manifold (M57T2TOP)

WARNING: Scalding hazard!
Only perform these tasks on an engine that has cooled down.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove exhaust turbocharger . See 11 65 040 REMOVE AND INSTALL/REPLACE HIGH PRESSURE EXHAUST TURBOCHARGER (SMALL EXHAUST TURBOCHARGER) (M57T2-SCR) or 11 65 045 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LOW-PRESSURE EXHAUST TURBOCHARGER (M57T2-SCR)

Release screws along lines (1).

Installation:

Replace nuts.

Replace all seals.

Tightening torque: 11 62 1AZ .

Tightening sequence from inside to outside!

Reassemble the vehicle.

Check exhaust system for leaks.
