61 12 002 Replacing positive battery cable (from battery to luggage compartment cable connector)

Follow instructions on INTELLIGENT BATTERY SENSOR (IBS) .

IMPORTANT: Do not under any circumstances pull or lever safety battery terminal off by force.

Necessary preliminary work:

Disconnect BATTERY EARTH LEAD

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Open cover and release nut (2).

Tightening torque 61 21 2AZ .

Open cover (3) and slacken nut underneath. Tightening torque 61 21 1AZ .

Using a suitable tool, expand locking bracket (4) at lower end and clip out.

Raise power distribution box slightly and remove safety battery terminal.

Unclamp cover (1) from cable shoe mounting.

Slacken nut (2). Tightening torque 61 12 3AZ .

Disconnect positive battery cable.

Installation note:

Risk of short circuits!

Make sure positive battery cable is correctly seated on cable shoe mounting.
