13 53 180 Replacing pressure line (between high-pressure pump and pressure accumulator) (M57T2)

13 5 020

Necessary preliminary tasks:

LAYOUT OF COMMON RAIL SYSTEM
Switch off ignition
Remove intake air manifold. See 11 61 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INTAKE PLENUM (M57T2/SCR) .

Cover intake ducts

IMPORTANT: It is essential to adhere to conditions of absolute cleanliness when working on the fuel system.

Do not allow any dirt particles or foreign bodies to get into the system
Use only fluff-free cloths
Remove all traces of dirt before removing pipes or individual components
Seal all fuel system openings with protective caps

Recycling:

Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.

Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.

Release union nuts (1) on pressure line with special tool 13 5 020 .

Tightening torque: 13 53 1AZ .

Disconnect pressure line (2).

Installation:

Observe installation position of rubber mount.
