61 31 068 Removing and installing/replacing switch for front passenger airbag deactivation

Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.
Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Refer to DISCONNECTING BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE
- Refer to REMOVING SIDE PANEL ON INSTRUMENT PANEL ON RIGHT
Removal:
Unlock both latch mechanisms on switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (1).
Feed out switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (1) from side panel (2).
Installation:
Join switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (1) with side panel (2).
NOTE:
Make sure switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (1) is correctly seated and locked in side panel (2).
Required follow-up work:
- Install SIDE PANEL ON INSTRUMENT PANEL, RIGHT
- Connect BATTERY EARTH LEAD
