17 11 000 Removing and installing the radiator

Attention! 

Wear protective gloves and safety goggles.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove FAN COWL .
• Drain COOLANT .
• Partially release the FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT WHEEL ARCH TRIM PANELS .
• Partially release WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR .
• Remove A/C CONDENSER

Removal: 

Release screws (2) for front left cross connection.

Drill out blind rivets (1) for front left cross connection.

Release screws (2) for front right cross connection.

Drill out blind rivets (1) for front right cross connection.

Unlock and detach coolant line (1) on the right at the radiator.

Unlock and detach coolant line (1) on the left at the radiator.

Unlock and detach coolant ventilation line (2) on the left at the radiator.

Release screws (1) on charge air cooler.

Feed out radiator (1) toward top and remove.

Installation: 

Feed in radiator (1) to the charge air cooler.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 17 10 2AZ .

Install cross connection (3).

Install locks (2) and lock with locking pins (1).

Replace screws (2) for front right cross connection and tighten.

Tightening torque 17 10 9AZ .

Replace blind rivets (1) for cross connection and rivet.

Replace screws (2) for front right cross connection and tighten.

Tightening torque 17 10 9AZ .

Replace blind rivets (1) for cross connection and rivet.

Connect right coolant line (1) to radiator and lock.

Coolant line (1) must audibly engage.

Connect left coolant line (1) to radiator and lock.

Connect left coolant ventilation line (2) to radiator and lock.

All coolant lines must audibly engage.

Required follow-up work: 

• INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER .
• Install the WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR .
• INSTALL THE FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT WHEEL ARCH TRIM PANELS .
• Install FAN COWL .
• Top up COOLANT .
