Checking/Topping up the transfer box oil (Active Torque Control 13-1)
Preliminary work
- Refer to CHECKING THE OIL LEVEL OF THE TRANSFER BOX WITH THE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM .
- Refer to REMOVING REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING TRANSMISSION CROSS-MEMBER .
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the transfer case due to unapproved transfer case oil .
Damage to the transfer case due to unapproved transfer case oil .
- Use only the approved transfer case oil.
- Check the transfer case oil level after completing the repair.
- Open the oil filler plug (1) .
- Check the oil level on the transfer box (VTG).
- If necessary, top up transfer case oil with the special tool 0 493 337 (00 2 080) up to the lower edge of the opening for the oil filler plug.
