Remove the frame trim on the window frame of the rear door

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Precondition

The side window glass must be completely open.

Detach rubber window seal (1) at top of frame trim (2).
Detach frame trim (2) from clamps (3) at top using special tool 2 298 505 .

Undo screws (1) of frame trim (2).

Insert the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) at the rear (on the C-pillar) into the window cavity and slide it toward the front.
The labeling TOPPING is facing up.
Attach the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) to the lower edge of the frame trim (1) as shown:
1. (2) Short shank, bottom
2. (3) Long shank, top (TOP)

Position the special tool 0 490 535 (00 9 318) on the door trim panel (1).
Use a suitable tool (2) through the opening of the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) to lever out the frame trim (3) toward the top no more than 5 mm.
Gradually guide special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) and 0 490 535 (00 9 318) backwards until frame trim (3) has been completely disassembled.
