- Adjust the luggage compartment floor and secure.
- Prepare the joints in areas (1) and (2) using the bond-and-rivet method.
- In areas (1) and (2) , transfer holes arising due to removal to new part. Drill out holes to Ø 6.8 mm.
- Prepare area (3)
for joining by welding.
- Replace welded connection (1)
with a MAG weld seam (2)
. In area (2)
, prepare a MAG weld seam with length 10 mm. Ensure sufficient distance to the bonded rivet connection (3)
.
- Prepare the new part in area (1)
for joining by welding.NOTE: To provide a better overview: Shown without side panel.
- Prepare area (2) for joining by glue rivet method.
- Apply the existing holes in the side member onto the new part in area (2) . Drill holes with Ø 6.8 mm.
- Prepare area (1)
for joining by welding.
Make sure that the distance to the adhesive area (2) is thereby sufficient.
NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
For additional information see: 41 00... Spot-weld bonding steel components - In area (1) , observe the procedure for the replacement of spot-welded adhesive joints for the series.
- Remove new component. Deburr bores.
Replacing the coarse thread bolt and threaded weld bolts (steel surface)
NOTE:
Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.
- Renew the coarse thread bolt (1)
and the threaded weld bolt (2)
.
Parts: Coarse thread bolt, threaded weld bolt
Take the number and position from the component to be replaced or the add-ons.
- Weld the coarse thread bolt (1) and threaded weld bolt (2) onto the new part.
Check ground pins and replace if necessary
