Removing the wiring harness section for the sensor system of cylinders 5 to 8
Precondition
- Ignition is switched off.

- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

- Screw all screw points of the cable ducts on again. Some of the screw points are also grounding points.

Wiring harness section for the sensor system for cylinders 5 to 8
- Unlock and remove the cover (1)

- Unlock all connectors (1)
from the rear to the front and then detach them off of the DME control unit.
- Detach all cables (1)
from the DME control unit holder.
- Detach all cables (1)
from the DME control unit holder.
- Loosen screws (1)
.
- Unlock connector (1) on DME control unit of cylinders 5 to 8 and detach.
- Unlock and disconnect the connector (2) at the pressure sensor on the left intake plenum.
- Unlock and detach connector (3) from rail pressure sensor.
- Unlock connector (4) on the camshaft position sensors and detach.
- Unlock connector (5)
on the high pressure pump and detach.
- Unlock and detach the connector (6) on the hot film air mass meter.
- Unlock connector (7) on the tank vent valve and detach.
- Unlock connector (8) on the Lambda oxygen sensor and on the monitoring oxygen sensor and detach.
- Unlock connector (1) for the wiring harness section for the sensor system of cylinders 1 to 4 and detach.
- Unlock connector (2)
on the electrical controller drive of the wastegate valve and detach.
- Unlock connector (1)
on the knock sensors of cylinders 5 to 8 and detach.
- Unlock connector (1) on the VANOS solenoid valve on the exhaust side and detach.
- Unlock connector (2) on the VANOS solenoid valve on the intake side and detach.
- Unlock connector (3) on the air conditioning compressor and detach.
- Unlock and disconnect the connector (4) from the boost pressure sensor.
- Release the wiring harness section for the sensor system of cylinders 5 to 8 from the clamps, guide it out and remove it.
