54 34 100 Adjusting soft top
Special tools required:
Convertible top fins must be vertical during the adjustment operation.
Convertible top is not screwed down during the adjustment operation.
The soft top can be adjusted in three directions: in height, longitudinal and transverse direction.
The soft top is connected to the body at both convertible top main bearings via three attachment nuts each and one adjusting nut each.
Overview of soft top adjustments:
To make soft top adjustments, undo the adjusting and attachment nuts at the convertible top main bearings and remove washers.
The soft top height is adjusted by turning the banjo bolt. The banjo bolts have an outer thread that allows fastening them to the convertible top main bearing with the special tool 54 3 000 . Turning them in a clockwise direction lifts the soft top, anti-clockwise turning lowers the soft top.
Finally, it is required to check the soft top adjustment in relation to the cowl panel. The guide pins on the left and right should retract centrally into the guide bushes. If this is not possible, the entire soft top must be adjusted in the respective direction.
Height adjustment:
Turn adjusting sleeves (1) to adjust height with special tool 54 3 000 .

- Turn counterclockwise = lower convertible top
- Turn clockwise = raise convertible top
Longitudinal and lateral adjustment:
The elongated holes on the main bearing allow the convertible top to be adjusted in the longitudinal and lateral directions.
Spaltmas = 3 ±2 mm
Fixing convertible top adjustment made:
Lock inner bolt and tighten down adjustment nut (1).
