61 31 357 Removing and installing (replacing) gear selector switch (DKG)
IMPORTANT:
Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DAMAGE (ESD PROTECTION) .
Necessary preliminary work:
- Clamp off BATTERY LEAD FROM NEGATIVE CONNECTION POINT
- Remove GWS TRIM
Removal:
Undo all screws (1) on the GWS.
Raise the GWS (2).
Unlock and disconnect the connector (1) on the GWS (2).
IMPORTANT:
Attach the connector (1) to the GWS (2).
Join the GWS (1).
Tighten down all bolts.
Tightening torque: 61 31 1AZ .
NOTE:
Insert gear selector switch (1) correctly in front and rear fixation of center console support.
Replacement:
Carry out VEHICLE PROGRAMMING/CODING .
Required follow-up work:
- Install GWS TRIM .
- Clamp off BATTERY LEAD FROM NEGATIVE CONNECTION POINT
