51 71 373 Removing and installing/replacing tension strut on spring strut dome

Driving without the tension strut is prohibited.

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Remove the CARBON STRUT 

Removal: 

Release the expanding rivet (1).

Place the sealing (2) back.

Release the screw (1) and remove the holder for the expansion tank from the tension strut.

Release the screws (2 to 4).

Pull off the seal (1).

Release the covers (2) and release the screws below.

Remove the tension strut (3).

Installation: 

Insert the tension strut (3).

Tighten the screws under the covers (2).

Tightening torque: 51 61 15AZ .

Parts:  Replace the screws.

Install the covers (2).

Attach the seal (1).

Attach the holder for the expansion tank on the tension strut and secure it with the screw (1).

Tighten the screws (2 to 4).

I Screws (2)	Tightening torque: 51 61 13AZ
Screws (3)	Tightening torque: 51 61 16AZ .
Screw (4)	Tightening torque: 51 61 14AZ .

Attach the sealing (2) and secure it with the expanding rivets (1).
