61 35 430 Removing and installing (replacing) the control unit for the regulated rear axle differential lock (GHAS)

Attention! 

Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DAMAGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

Removal: 

Remove flap (1).

Unlock all connectors (1) on control unit (4) and disconnect.

Slacken both nuts (2).

Release both nuts (3) and feed the control unit (4) out of the bracket.

Installation: 

Feed control unit (4) into the bracket.

Attach both nuts (3) and tighten.

Tightening torque: 61 35 9AZ .

Tighten both nuts (2).

Tightening torque: 61 35 9AZ .

Connect all connectors (1) to control unit (4).

Close and lock flap (1).

Replacement: 

• Carry out VEHICLE PROGRAMMING/ENCODING .
• Perform start-up.
