WARNING:
Disconnect negative battery terminal (risk of fire due to short-circuiting on removal).
Electric fuel pump starts up automatically when door is opened!
Carry out installation work on fuel system only with coolant temperature below 40°C.

Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .
Attention!
Adhere to conditions of absolute cleanliness when carrying out repairs on the high-pressure fuel system.
Introduced contaminants can cause malfunctions in the system!
- Do not allow any dirt particles or foreign bodies to get into the system.
- Remove all traces of contamination before removing lines or separate components.
- Use only lint-free cloths.
- Seal all fuel system openings with protective caps or plugs.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove FRONT HIGH PRESSURE PUMP .
Removal:
Release screw (1) on knock sensors.
Unlock connector (2) and remove.
Remove the knock sensors.
Preparation for installation:
Clean contact surfaces of knock sensors on engine block.
Installation:
Tighten screw (1) on knock sensors.
It is mandatory to adhere to the tightening torques!
Tightening torque: 13 62 3AZ .
Connect connector (2) and lock.
Connector (2) must snap audibly into place.
Required follow-up work:
- Install FRONT HIGH PRESSURE PUMP .
