Remounting the install parts on the heating and air-conditioning unit during replacement

Removing the control unit for the air conditioning system

Unlock and disconnect the plug connections (1) and (2) .
NOTE: The control unit for the air conditioning system is located in the footwell on the left next to the heating and air-conditioning unit.
Unlock the detent (3) towards the bottom.
Pull out control unit (4) in arrow direction and remove.

Installing the air conditioning control unit

Install the control unit (1) and correctly position.
Lock control unit (1) .
Connect connectors (2) and lock.

Removing controller for the blower

Loosen screws (1) .
Unlock and disconnect plug connections (2) .
Thread out and remove controller (3) .

Installing controller for the blower

Thread in and install controller (3) .
Connect connectors (2) and lock.

Tighten down screws (1) .

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Removing the blower for the heating and air-conditioning unit

Loosen screws (1) .
Thread out and remove blower (2) .

Install the blower for the heating and air-conditioning unit

Feed in and correctly position blower (2) .

Tighten down screws (1) .

Remove evaporator temperature sensor

Unlock and disconnect the plug (1) .
Pull the evaporator temperature sensor (2) out of the heating and air-conditioning unit (3) and remove.

Install evaporator temperature sensor

Fit evaporator temperature sensor (2) correctly in the heating and air-conditioning unit (3) .
Connect connectors (1) and lock.

Removing the left mixed air flap motor

Loosen screws (1) .
Unlock plug connection (2) and disconnect.
Remove the left mixed air flap motor (3) .

Correctly position the mixed air flap motor (3) .
Connect connectors (2) and lock.

Tighten down screws (1) .

Remove microfilter for passenger compartment ventilation

Unlock lock (1) .
Open flap (2) .

Install the lower microfilter (1) in arrow direction in the heating and air-conditioning unit (2) .

Loosen screws (1) .
Unlock plug connection (2) and disconnect.
Remove defroster flap motor (3) .

Correctly position the defroster flap motor (3) .
Connect connectors (2) and lock.

Tighten down screws (1) .

Remove fresh air/recirculated air flap motor

Loosen screws (1) .
Unlock associated plug connection and disconnect.
Remove the fresh air/recirculated air flap motor with the bracket (2) .

Installing the fresh air/recirculated air flap motor

Position the fresh air/recirculated air flap motor with the bracket (2) correctly.

Tighten down screws (1) .

Connect and lock corresponding connectors.

Removing the right footwell flap motor

Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Loosen screws (2) .
NOTE: In case of difficult accessibility, unscrew the screws (2) with the special tool 2 359 116 .
Removing the footwell flap motor (3) .

Installing the right footwell flap motor

Correctly position the footwell flap motor (3) .

Tighten down screws (2) .

NOTE: In case of difficult accessibility, tighten the screws (2) with the special tool 2 359 116 .

Connect connectors (1) and lock.

Remove the heat exchanger

Loosen screws (1) .
Unlock the detents (2) and (3) .
Remove the cover (4) .

Install the heat exchanger

Slide the heat exchanger (3) into the heating and air-conditioning unit (3) .
Correctly position the holder (2) .
Tighten down screw (1) .

Click detents (2) and (3) into place.

Tighten down screw (1) .

Remove the foam material (1) .
