When replacing the backrest frame: Remount components

Removing the head restraint

Adjust the headrest (1) completely upward.
Push the lock (2) and pull out and remove the headrest (1) in the direction of the arrow.

- Removing the head restraint guide
Unlock the locks (1) and remove the head restraint guides (2) in the direction of the arrow.

- Removing the backrest width adjustment and lumbar support with pump
Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1).
Unlock and disconnect the pneumatic lines on the pneumatic clutch (2).
Unclip the pneumatic lines from the brackets in the marked area.
Release the valve units (3) from the spring wire.

Release cable tie (1).
Unlock plug connection (2) and disconnect.
Feed out the pump (3).

NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.
Release the screws (1) on the left and right backrest width adjustment (2).

Release the lumbar support (1) from the spring wire in the marked areas (2).

Carefully feed out the lumbar support and the backrest width adjustment (1) complete with the pump and valve block at the side.

- Installing the backrest width adjustment and lumbar support with pump
Carefully insert the lumbar support bladder and the backrest width adjustment (1) completely with the pump and the valve block from the side.

Fasten the lumbar support bladder (1) in the marked areas to the spring wire (2).

NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.
Replace screws (1).
Parts: Screws

Tighten the screws (1) on the left and right backrest width adjustment (2).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Backrest width adjustment to backrest frame
Oval-head screw Replace screw.	tightening torque	1.7 Nm

Feed in the pump (3).
Install the cable tie (1).
Connect connectors (2) and lock.

Correctly position and attach the valve units (3) on the spring wire.
Clip the pneumatic line in the marked areas into the holder.
Connect the pneumatic lines with the pneumatic clutch (2) and lock.
Connect connectors (1) and lock.

- Installing the headrest guide
Ensure that the headrest guide (2) is installed on the left side when facing the direction of travel.
The headrest guides (1) and (2) are not the same in construction.

The headrest guide (2) is fitted with a lock (3).

Correctly position the headrest guides (2) and install in the direction of the arrow.
The detents (1) must engage audibly.

Correctly position the head rest (1).
Press the lock (2) and install the head rest (1) in the direction of the arrow.
