Installing The Tailgate

- Support hood/trunk lid in fully open position with the aid of a suitable device.

- Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
- Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.
- Position the tailgate on the vehicle. Make sure the striker does not engage in the tailgate lock. If necessary, cover the tailgate lock.
- Tighten the screws (1)
.TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Trunk lid to the hinge Hexagon screw M8 Tightening torque 28 Nm - Carefully close the tailgate and check for bodywork contact, reposition tailgate if necessary.
- Open tailgate.
- Feed the connector (1) into the tailgate and connect.
- Install rubber grommet (2)
. Ensure the correct installation (watertightness).
- Thread wiring harness (1) and wiring harness (2) into the tailgate.
- Install rubber grommet (3) . Ensure the correct installation (watertightness).
- Secure the wiring harness (1)
at the marked points (arrows).
- Feed the rubber grommet (3) together with the wiring harness (2) through in an outward direction.
- Secure the wiring harness (2) at the marked points (arrows).
- Connect and lock the plug connections (1)

- Secure the wiring harness (1)

- Connect connectors for acoustic sensor (2) and lock.
- Install acoustic sensor (2) . Clip in tabs (1) .
- Connect all the plug connections (arrows) of the vehicle wiring harness (3)
and lock,
