Removing the BDC

- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

Preliminary work
- Refer to DISCONNECTING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE OF THE SYSTEM BATTERY .
- Refer to REMOVING THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM AT BOTTOM RIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING FRONT DOOR SILL COVER STRIP .
- Refer to REMOVING THE SIDE TRIM PANEL IN THE FOOTWELL AT THE RIGHT-HAND A-PILLAR .
- Fold carpet (1) in the area of the BDC to the side.
- Loosen the lock (1) in the direction of the arrow.
- Disengage the latch mechanism (2) on positive battery cable connector (3).
- Remove the connector of the positive battery cable (3) from the housing (4) in the direction of the arrow.
- Unlock and disconnect all plug connections (1).
- Loosen the latch mechanisms (1).
- Guide out BDC (2) sideways out of the holder and remove it to the rear.
