11 12 729 Checking cylinder head for water leaks (230i and 230i xDrive coupe/convertible)

Special tools required: 

• 2 361 215 
• 2 410 136 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Refer to REMOVING CYLINDER HEAD .
• Refer to REMOVING ALL HYDRAULIC VALVE CLEARANCE COMPENSATING ELEMENTS .
• Refer to REMOVING ECCENTRIC SHAFT .
• Refer to REMOVING EXHAUST TURBOCHARGER .

Unscrew nuts (1).

See TIGHTENING TORQUE .

Remove clamping strip (2).

Position cylinder head (1) on special tool 2 361 215  and secure to 35 Nm  .

Disassemble connecting branch (1).

Attach special tool 2 410 136  to cylinder head and secure.
