Removing the drive belt for alternator

- Reduce preload as far as possible before disassembly. Relieve component.
CAUTION:
The belt pulley snaps back suddenly Injury hazard!
- Wear protective gloves.
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the engine.
If the engine is manually rotated in the wrong direction of rotation, the engine can be damaged.

- Only rotate the engine manually in the correct direction of rotation: a) clockwise when looking at the damper, or b) counterclockwise when looking at the chain drive, b) applies only if the timing chain is installed in the rear.
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
If the drive belt is reused: Mark the direction of rotation and reinstall the drive belt in same direction of rotation.
If the drive belt is reused: Mark the direction of rotation and reinstall the drive belt in same direction of rotation.
- Crank engine at central bolt (1)
until mark on vibration damper is reached as shown (arrow).
The screws (2) on the vibration damper may only be released if adjusted to the shown position.
- Loosen screws (2)

- Crank engine at central bolt until mark on vibration damper is reached as shown (arrow).
- Remove the drive belt for alternator (1)
