Remove the support for the dashboard
Precondition
- With equipment specification with rear console:
- Remove rear panel
WARNING:
Vehicle may slip off the vehicle hoist if the vehicle hoist is handled incorrectly.

Remove steering shaft lower part from steering column
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The steering shaft and the steering column are not encoded to each other. At the time of removal, installation and replacement, mark the positioning of the steering shaft in relation to the steering column. Non-compliance will lead to inclination of the steering wheel.

- Mark the positioning of the bottom steering shaft (1)
to the steering column (2)
.
- Loosen screw (1) .
- Detach bottom steering shaft (2) from steering column.
The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
NOTE:
To provide a better overview: Schematic diagram with partially hidden components.
- Release the screw (1) and the nut (2) .
- Move the trim panel (3)
downwards so far until the underlying screw is accessible.
- Loosen screw (1)
.
- Loosen nuts (1) .
- Loosen screws (2)
.
- Loosen nuts (1) and remove left and right retainer.
- Loosen nuts (2)
.
- Loosen nuts (1) and (2) .
- Carefully slide out the support for the dashboard to the rear with the help of a support person and in doing so unlock and disconnect all plug connections.
