51 41 001 Replacing left or right front door trim panel

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Depending on equipment specification:

Modify Power window switch . See 61 31 118 REPLACING FRONT PASSENGER POWER WINDOW SWITCH or 61 31 117 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING POWER WINDOW SWITCH (DRIVER'S SIDE)
Modify OPERATING UNIT FOR SUPPLEMENTARY SEAT FUNCTIONS
Modify FOOTWELL LIGHT
Modify OPTICAL FIBRE UNDER DECORATIVE STRIPS
Modify OPTICAL FIBRE STORAGE COMPARTMENT
Modify MID-RANGE SPEAKER
Modify INSIDE DOOR OPENER
Punch CONTOUR FOR SEAT MEMORY SWITCH INTO DOOR TRIM PANEL .
Modify OPERATING FACILITY FOR SUPPLEMENTARY SEAT FUNCTIONS

Modify:

Locking button trim (1).
Retaining clips (2)
Crashpad (3)
Retaining clips (4)
Handle (5)

Installation note:

If optional optical fibre is fitted, break off pin (1) in map pocket (2) if necessary.

Vehicles with versions up to 07/2013 have a two-pin connector for the LED module.

When fitting a door trim panel with three-pin LED module, the connector housing at the wiring harness must be replaced.

Connection at the new 3-pin connector:

Pin 1 = GND (31)

Pin 2 = AMBL_1 ambient light 1 (58)

Pin 2 = remains free
