33 17 004 Replacing all rubber mounts for rear axle final drive mounting at front (M5)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Lower REAR AXLE SUPPORT .

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!

Place plastic wedge (2) under rear axle differential oil sump (1).

Unscrew nuts (1).

Tightening torque 33 17 1AZ .

Remove screws with balance weights (2).

Carefully set down rear axle differential with oil sump on plastic underlay.

Installation note:

Renew screws and nuts (1).

Pull out rubber mount with special tools 2 304 560 , 2 304 570 , 2 304 572 , 2 155 744 , 2 208 574 and 2 208 576.

IMPORTANT: Observe installation position of rubber mount (1)!
Slot (2) parallel to rear axle level.
Multiple pressing in and out of rubber mount (1)
is not permitted.

Coat new rubber mount and bearing bush in rear axle support with Circo Light.

Draw in rubber mount (1) with special tools 2 304 575 , 2 304 572 , 2 155 744 , 2 208 574 and 2 208 576 as far as it will go.
