Disconnecting and connecting battery earth lead (330i xDrive Wagon, 328d xDrive Wagon, 330i GT xDrive, 340i GT xDrive)

Necessary preliminary work:

For F31:

REMOVING THE BATTERY COVER .

For F34:

Remove REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL ON SIDE PANEL ON RIGHT .

Loosen nut (1).

Tightening torque 61 21 1AZ .

CAUTION: Do not under any circumstances use force to pull off negative terminal.

Pull off battery negative lead and IBS (2) in an upward direction, place to one side and secure.
